Weddings at St Andrew’s

We would love to be able to help you as you consider your wedding service here at St Andrew’s! It’s a beautiful building with a wonderful history.

First things first, to hold your wedding at a local parish church like St Andrew’s, you must have a ‘qualifying connection’ to legally marry here:

To have a ‘qualifying connection’ you must be able to show that one of you:

  • lives in the parish (you can check via this link:  https://www.achurchnearyou.com/)

  • is on the church’s electoral roll

  • has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months

  • has habitually attended normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months

  • were baptised in the parish or were prepared for confirmation in the parish

Or if you can show that:

  • one of your parents; at any time after they were born: has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or has at any time habitually attended normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months

  • one of your parents or grandparents was married in the parish

  • you have been granted a Special Licence

If you do indeed have a qualifying connection and would like to marry at St Andrew’s, please email admin@standrewswimbledon.com with your preferred dates and we will send through the correct forms to complete and arrange for your banns to be read!
